Question

Your response to MQ 2014/5804 failed to address concerns on how increasing levels of fuel poverty are impacting on children in London. Will you therefore commission research to determine the extent of fuel poor homes in London with children, and the challenges these households face?

I am fully committed to reducing fuel poverty and addressing the impacts on children. I am encouraging the Government to introduce a "regional indicator", which would include numbers of children in fuel poor homes - this was a recommendation in my recent consultation response (see below).

Once I have clarity on whether this is likely, I will be able to decide what additional research is required.
