Given your response to question 2014/5102, in what circumstances do you believe it is appropriate for section 21 notices to be issued by private landlords?

Providing the fixed term of the tenancy has expired, the notice is issued correctly in compliance with legal requirements, and the landlord has adhered to all their legal responsibilities towards their tenants (including gas safety, deposit protection, and dealing with health and safety hazards), it is appropriate for a landlord to issue a section 21 notice in any circumstance where they require vacant possession.
