Question

I recently met with a local resident, who has requested that a bus countdown timer is placed at the two bus stops outside Preston Road Metropolitan Line station. I understand that these bus stops serve routes 79, 204 and 223 which stop at Preston Road station.

Preston Road station is a busy commuter hub, particularly during the weekday peak periods. Furthermore, Preston Road area is a popular local shopping destination where people are encouraged to use public transport. The provision of bus time information would greatly assist and encourage people to make more use of buses.

Will you therefore consider implementing a countdown timer at these two bus stops?

There are no current plans, nor funding in place, to increase the number of countdown signs at stops. London boroughs have however been offered the option of leasing new signs through secured S106 funding or alternative private funding streams.
