What were the costs incurred by the Greater London Authority for your recent trade mission to the Far East?

We are still finalising the exact costs but currently the total figure is estimated to be around £51,000, covering flights, hotels and other expenses for the GLA delegation.

Over the course of the 5.5 days of the trip I attended 33 events and addressed well over 3000 people. I met with the Prime Ministers of Singapore and Malaysia, and the President of Indonesia, to forge stronger trading ties between London and these countries and promote the opportunities that are available in this city.

I travelled with a small delegation of senior business people who universally commented on the value to their companies and the importance of this sort of trip to highlight the strengths London has to offer on the international stage. For example Benoy's Global Director Tom Cartledge said "without a doubt, this delegation will have long term benefits for Benoy. We have raised the company's profile while showing the strength of British ingenuity across the globe."
