Your 2012 manifesto pledged to strengthen the CompeteFor service to improve access to contract opportunities across the GLA Group for small and medium-sized enterprises. How have you done this and what evidence is there that these changes have improved access for SMEs?

Answer for CompeteFor

Answer for CompeteFor

Following the government's decision to close the RDA network in 2012, I transitioned CompeteFor into a self-sustaining business led model. Under this model CompeteFor delivered successfully through the 2012 Games, remaining free to use for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). I have supported CompeteFor's development into new supply chains, with High Speed 2 and Thames Tideway Tunnel committing to use the system for their planned procurement activity.  Overall CompeteFor report they have made over 13,000 opportunities available and around three quarters of the contracts awarded to CompeteFor suppliers have gone to SMEs.
