The step-free programme is currently prioritising the most heavily used key interchange stations which unlock the greatest number of journeys for the greatest number of customers.

A step-free access route at Stanmore station already exists, though TfL acknowledges this is difficult for some wheelchair users to use. In order to improve accessibility at Stanmore, TfL introduced a new manual boarding ramp at the station this summer, new wayfinding signage in and around the station, and improvements to the 324 bus route that connects with Kingsbury Tube station, which is step-free.
