Question

Will the Mayor reconsider an exemption for LPG vehicles in the congestion zone given there is evidence they help reduce poor air quality (NOx-PM), whilst being no worse than a diesel on C02?

A Congestion Charge discount is offered to provide an incentive for users of the zone to choose a low emission vehicle. The current policy is a 100 per cent discount for vehicles having a CO2 emission of 75g/km or less and to be a minimum of Euro 5 standard for air quality.

TfL does not provide a specific additional discount for LPG vehicles because they do not provide further air quality benefits compared with standard Euro V and Euro VI petrol vehicles.
