TfL continually reviews its processes to see what else can be done to assist taxi drivers in making it easier for them to deposit and log lost items.

TfL changed its process in 2011 to allow black cab drivers to hand property directly into TfL's Lost Property Office at Baker Street rather than having to find a Police Station.

Due to data protection it is not possible to share customer details with taxi drivers. However, TfL takes extensive steps to advise customers that their items have been found, by, if possible, contacting them via their banks, place of work, college, university, or home address so they can be reunited with their property.
