London Fire Brigade crews have attended two recent incidents which affected trains on the Southeastern service. One was at Charing Cross station and the second was at Denmark Hill station. Fire investigation officers also attended both scenes.

Responsibility for the safety of trains lies with the train operating company and tracks are the responsibility of Network Rail. These fires are therefore a matter for these companies, along with the Office of Rail Regulation, which is responsible for the regulation of safety for both train operating companies and tracks.
