On a number of occasions throughout the year, London closes off its roads to traffic to allow pedestrians to access the streets for travelling, socialising, sporting activities and shopping. This ranges from major events such as the London Marathon, Notting Hill Carnival, and Prudential RideLondon festival of cycling, to the pedestrian VIP days in the West End.  In addition there are a number of smaller scale, local traffic-free events around London such as local car-free days, street parties and play streets.

I have asked TfL to look at the potential of further car free days and events in London. Once this work has been done I am happy to discuss it further.
