Is there an active TfL programme of deploying solar PV on the TfL estate? Please give details.

Yes. The approach to solar PV has been to deploy it in the most cost effective manner, which has meant integrating with existing capital projects where possible.  For example, the opportunity for PV has been included in discussions as part of TfL's RE:FIT programme to understand if it can be installed as part of energy conservation measures. 

Solar PV has been installed at the upgraded Paddington Hammersmith and City Line station and as part of the new Northfields Train Crew Accommodation building.  The total installed capacity on these sites is 60kW.  In addition, Tramlink is about to issue a request for quotation to install a 10kW array at its Therapia Lane depot.

Solar PV forms part of the wider approach of sourcing low carbon energy and maximising value for tax and fare payers.  For example, this includes the project to install new low carbon generation at Greenwich Power Station as part of the 2014/15 Business Plan.
