All London taxis are already fully wheelchair accessible. This is one of the requirements of the conditions of fitness, and is one of the many reasons why the London taxi trade is the best in the world.

However, I want to build on the good reputation of the London taxi trade even further, and am currently looking at different incentives to ensure that London black cabs remain the best in the world. My team and TfL are therefore exploring a range of other funding opportunities to support taxi vehicle owners and drivers purchase new zero emission capable taxis that would have a significant positive impact on air quality in London.
