The data and recording method of stops and searches follows Home Office guidelines and does not allow for the identification of specific occasions when an arrest relates to the conduct of the person stopped, brought about by the search itself. However, I can confirm that over the preceding three months, 97 per cent (165) of stop and search arrests related to the possession of the following articles: weapons, drugs, stolen property, or articles concerned in theft or criminal damage.
