I am aware of the delays businesses are experiencing when it comes to the installation of high speed connectivity. The causes can include issues around wayleaves, a shortage of Openreach engineers, and other issues.

On 27th July I published the London Infrastructure Plan 2050, which deals extensively with connectivity in London, making both immediate and longer term recommendations for how to deliver fast, ubiquitous access to the internet from mobile and fixed devices, in accordance with the Government's target of 99 per cent national coverage for superfast broadband by 2018.

This month I held a Summit with London's largest internet providers to discuss practical steps as to how to make the capital the best connected city in Europe and further improve affordable access to superfast connections for homes and small businesses, and the issue of delays in installation was discussed.

The attendees will meet again in six months' time to discuss progress.
