The GLA is currently funding a £10m programme of 8 projects providing support to young Londoners who are Not in Employment, Education, or Training (NEET) to help them access sustainable EET opportunities. The programme is funded 50% by ESF and 50% by the GLA. It has three specific themes targeting:  young people with learning difficulties and disabilities aged 16-25; young offenders aged 14-17;  and those aged 14-16 who have been excluded from school.

The European Structural and Investment Funds strategy shows a clear commitment to tackling unemployment among disabled groups for the 2014-20 ESF Programme. Targets for participation by equalities groups have not yet been agreed for the 2014-20 ESF Programme and the Programme itself has not been launched, negotiations are ongoing between Government and the European Commission. The equalities groups assigned specific targets are likely to be the same as in the 2007-13 ESF Programme, they are; disabled, 50+, ethnic minorities and women.
