The Mayor

The 2007-13 ESF Programme, which is under the strategic direction of the Mayor, includes a target of 50% participation by women to enter employment.

The West Croydon Investment Programme funded by the Mayor includes targets for engaging women to enter education and work.

The European Structural and Investment Funds strategy shows a clear commitment to tackling unemployment among women for the 2014-20 ESF Programme. Targets for participation by equalities groups have not yet been agreed for the 2014-20 ESF Programme and the Programme itself has not been launched, negotiations are ongoing between Government and the European Commission. The equalities groups assigned specific targets are likely to be the same as in the 2007-13 ESF Programme, they are; disabled, 50+, ethnic minorities and women.
