Answer for Radicalisation

Answered By:
The Mayor

Although the lead on providing direct grant funding to community groups which work on preventing radicalisation and for national consultation lies with the Home Office, both the MPS and MOPAC are, however, actively engaged in identifying effective routes to allow communities to be more resilient to radicalisation.

On 12 September, I convened a meeting of leaders of the key cities in England in which the majority of this work takes place to share best practice and identify any gaps in the current approach, including our response to radicalisation of young people. On 29 September, the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime will convene police and local authority partners to consider in depth the approach in London to countering radicalisation.
