The significant improvement of 11 historic shop fronts and upper floors in Cricklewood was made possible by my Outer London Fund. The funding was bid for by Barnet and Brent councils. Whilst the Outer London Fund has been allocated and largely spent, a new High Street Fund will see up to £9 million more invested into London's high streets. A bidding process, with submissions being made by local authorities, business and community groups, will determine which places receive funding. Shop front improvements are likely to form a part of this new programme and I encourage Wealdstone to bid.
