The Local Policing Model (LPM) will see 2,600 extra officers going into neighbourhood teams by 2015.In accordance with the LPM every ward will have a named PC and PCSO.

In addition to these normal officers, Borough Commanders and Neighbourhood Inspectors will have a pool of officers to draw on. The number of officers in safer neighbourhoods for each borough is outlined in my Police and Crime Plan.

It is for Borough Commanders to decide how this extra resource is deployed in their borough in line with operational needs, reflecting the fact that not all wards and neighbourhoods experience the same level of crime.
