Public transport accessibility is always a key consideration, alongside other policies relating to local character, design and social infrastructure. Site-specific PTAL assessments should be undertaken to inform decisions on large sites. Development proposals should be supported by detailed transport assessments to assess and address the impact of proposals on the transport network. Where existing transport capacity is insufficient to accommodate growth, proposals may be refused or phased to ensure transport improvements are delivered.
