We have recently been thought the worst recession in a generation but the picture is now improving for Londoners, with employment in London rising strongly.

Despite this, during my two terms I have introduced a number of measures to help Londoners cope with a rise in cost of living. This includes:

       Promoting the London Living Wage - there are now 408 accredited Living Wage employers in London, benefitting around 19,000 Londoners.

       Protecting and introducing travel concessions for veterans, apprentices, the disabled and the Freedom Pass for older Londoners. I will also shortly be introducing the Part-time travelcard.

       TfL fares frozen next year at no more than inflation.

       Retrofitting over 100,000 homes through RE:NEW
