The consultation on new river crossing options east of the Silvertown Tunnel closed on 18 September 2014. TfL expects to provide a report outlining the issues raised by the end of the year, which will provide further clarity on the appropriate way forward.

Whichever crossings are taken forward will be subject to statutory consultation on the detailed design ahead of an application for powers. This will consider the detailed environmental, economic and regeneration impacts of each scheme.

I believe that it is crucial that a number river crossings east of Tower Bridge are delivered to support London's population growth and economic prosperity.
