The MPS Plant and Agricultural National Intelligence Unit (PANIU) maintains a database of all construction & agricultural machinery theft in the UK. It does not compile data on farm related crimes by ward and borough.

The unit's core functions are:

        To maintain a database of all recorded theft of construction & agricultural machinery nationally.

        To gather & disseminate intelligence concerning this area of crime.

        To provide support and advice to UK law enforcement in this specialist arena.

PANIU have advised that they are happy to provide a presentation of their work, if this would be of interest to Assembly Members.
