The draft LCDS states that "Cyclists' needs should be taken into account in risk registers and maintenance regimes".  The draft LCDS also states that "A regime is required to ensure that defects are picked up and acted on as soon as possible".  TfL is working with the London boroughs to encourage them to adopt these new standards when they are published to ensure that the approach shown in the LCDS is formally adopted by borough maintenance teams and is integral to their Highway Asset Management Plans.
