TfL licenses these services under London Service Permits. We undertake regular due diligence checks on all London Service Permit holders as part of the approval process. Operators are required to provide evidence that driver competence and training, both pre-employment and ongoing, meet the industry standard. This requires assurance that cyclists and other vulnerable road users are considered within driver training and induction. TfL expects all new drivers to receive such training and all existing drivers to receive refresher training on a regular basis.
