Question

I note your answer to my questions 2014/1832 and 2014/1833 concerning the start dates for consulting on plans for the remaining Cycle Superhighways 4, 5,6, 10, 11 and 12. As you aim to have these built by 2016, what is the timetable for the consultation process?

Answer for Cycling Superhighways

As I set out in my Cycling Vision for London, TfL and I are committed to delivering a number of Cycle Superhighways by 2016. As you may have seen from the recent publicity, we have begun consultation on our much anticipated proposals for East-West and North-South Cycle Superhighways, which will provide segregated cycle lanes and cycle priority junctions through the heart of central London.

The East-West superhighway will better serve journeys serviced by the former CS10. CS5 (inner) is also currently in consultation. Consultations are planned this autumn on CS1 and on a full upgrade to the existing CS2 route. Consultation on CS11 is planned for spring 2015 and for CS4 in winter 2015. CS6 and CS12 are now deleted from the programme. For CS9 please see my answer to MQ 2014/2696.
