The Growth Deal negotiations with Government highlighted how importantly I value apprenticeships and resulted in a good settlement for London. Matching Government's commitments to deliver a single and integrated apprenticeship offer in London, the LEP will invest £3m in Apprenticeships subject to LEP and IPB approval.

SFA staff responsibilities have been rationalised to include Apprenticeships, Traineeships, National Careers Service, ESF and employer and provider engagement, such that no dedicated employer engagement team for Apprenticeships now exists. However, in response to feedback from the London Enterprise Panel and in recognition of the different governance arrangements for London and the scale of its economic growth, the SFA's London Employer and Delivery Services (EDS) Unit is larger than those in other parts of the country, and will continue to have a dedicated resource for Apprenticeship development activity. It will focus on delivering more high-quality Apprenticeship and Traineeship opportunities, and will work closely with the GLA, LEP and other stakeholders.
