Answer for London Overground at Old Oak Common - Wormwood Scrubs station

I believe an Overground connection to the new High Speed Two interchange station at Old Oak Common is necessary for HS2 to work properly for London.  It helps improve connectivity to the HS2 network, reduces pressure at Euston and will support the development of the Old Oak Common area. This is why my response to the Government is that an Overground station should be delivered as part of the HS2 scheme.

The consultation that began on 22 September is to gauge public and stakeholder opinion on the principle of an Overground link and to seek views on the different options that TfL has proposed. This includes a number of different station options that would improve access to the surrounding area.

Following earlier stakeholder engagement, the consultation proposals do not include an option for a station constructed alongside Wormwood Scrubs. This was not supported by the local authority and local stakeholder groups. Instead, there are proposals for a station to the North East and to the North West of the Scrubs. However, the consultation is an opportunity for people to express their views and raise other ideas if they so wish.
