Since 2008 I have directed refusal of two tall building applications referred to me - at Queens Market in Canning Town and Pier Road in the Royal Docks.

However, I should point out that through the effective operation of my planning team's pre- application system, the majority of poorly designed tall building proposals are weeded out at an early stage, and poor designs that are submitted are usually greatly enhanced through negotiation, obviating the need to refuse schemes.
