Do you agree with the Government's assessment that the increase in commercial flights at RAF Northolt will result in an extra 2,500 vehicle trips per year?

No. It is not clear how this figure has been calculated and it appears to be a serious underestimate of the potential vehicle trips that 5,000 annual air traffic movements (which could each carry up to 30 passengers, plus crew) could generate.

The nature of the business jet market is such that almost all access to and from RAF Northolt will be by road. With no individual seat sales allowed, passengers are likely to travel in groups. Making a very conservative assumption that most air traffic movements will have 10 passengers or fewer, catered for in two vehicles, this would place 20,000 additional vehicle trips per year on the local road network.
