Local boroughs do now have the responsibility to commission substance misuse services.  The increasingly visible harms associated with these substances require a suitable response and I am pleased to note a number of boroughs have taken action.  Relevant partner agencies have also taken steps to address this problem with the GLA and Public Health England championing the issue at recent meetings and events.  In addition the London Drug and Alcohol Policy Forum, whom we also work alongside, has recently produced material aimed at those most likely to use these substances, which is being provided to every borough.
