How many dog attacks have been reported to the Metropolitan Police in each of the last five years? How many of those reports have resulted in prosecution of the owner or the removal and destruction of the animal concerned?

The table below indicates all crimes involving dogs which resulted in an injury to the victim. The Sanctioned Detection (SD) rate indicates where an offender has been charged, cautioned or had the matter taken into consideration.

It is not possible to determine whether there was a conviction at court without examining each case individually.
