Apprenticeships Week is overseen by the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) and includes events and activities organised by a number of separate organisations and businesses. As such, the GLA will not comprehensively evaluate the week. In light of my ambitious target to generate 250,000 apprenticeship starts by 2016, there is undoubtedly more to be done in the coming years to promote apprenticeships. The LEP is funding a marketing campaign, to start in spring 2014. Having already written to over 200 London businesses about apprenticeships, I will continue my correspondence with London firms. I am also actively scoping out new opportunities to engage with businesses and other stakeholders, and will continue to support the work of NAS and other apprenticeship champions.
