As set out in a recent announcement, TfL has put a notice in the Official Journal of the European Union confirming its intention to procure a new generation of trains that will be capable of full automation. An invitation to tender will be issued in 2015 and the new deep-level, energy efficient, walk-through and air-cooled Tube trains will be introduced from 2022. The new trains will ultimately be rolled out across the Piccadilly, Bakerloo, Central and Waterloo & City Lines.

Over the next few years TfL will be engaging with its customers, stakeholders and staff as plans for the New Tube for London develop.
