As part of the Waltham Forest streetscape improvement works, it became necessary to review the bus stopping arrangements on this section of Hoe Street.

The review has been carried out jointly by TfL and London Borough of Waltham Forest officers, who concluded that the original pairs of bus stops in both directions at this location were too close together to allow buses to pull in parallel to the kerb and offer accessible boarding and alighting.  It was therefore agreed that the amalgamation of stops was the best way to improve the situation from a passenger point of view.

The bus shelter and Countdown sign at the southbound stop will be re-introduced shortly. Those at the northbound stop will be replaced once the adjacent building works are completed.
