Development work on the scheme to electrify the Gospel Oak - Barking Line is continuing to its planned programme. The scheme is already at GRIP stage 2 and the schedule is that GRIP stage 3 will be complete in Autumn 2014.

The scope of works remains unchanged and includes the electrification of the full route between Gospel Oak and Barking, plus the electrification of connections to London Gateway port and both the Midland and East Coast Main Lines to the north. The total cost of this work remains an estimated £115 million and the scheme is fully funded. The completion date for the project is 2017, which also remains unchanged from previous plans.
