Question

I was recently asked by a Woodberry Down Ward (Hackney) resident to put the following question to you -  In a 4 March Transport for London press release entitled Mayor confirms locations across the capital set to be transformed as part of £4 billion roads programme, it was announced that a "scheme to deliver safe, reliable and accessible road improvements to support new housing development" would be implemented on the Woodberry Down stretch of Seven Sisters Road. Can you confirm whether this scheme will involve the narrowing of the road, which could significantly improve air quality in the area (not least for the pupils of Woodberry Down Community Primary School and Stamford Hill Primary School) and lead to greater community cohesion?

Hackney Council have recently approved a planning application to regenerate the Woodberry Downs area and as part of the development there is a proposal to reduce the number of traffic lanes on Seven Sisters Road.  TfL is currently assessing the proposal thoroughly before any changes are agreed.
