Question

It is clear from your answers to my questions 2014/0672 and 2013/3446, that you are relying on the supervisors of under-cover police to expressly include in their terms of deployment that sexual relations are not pre-authorised and for the officer to sign that they have understood everything that was said to them. Does this mean that if the supervisor neglects to include this, or the officer misunderstands the instruction, they will not be subject to disciplinary action if they do engage in sexual relations? To simplify matters and avoid errors, why don't you just have this printed on every form that under-cover officers have to sign when saying they have understood their terms of deployment?

The specific terms of reference for an officer's deployment are confidential. Any complaint of misconduct against an officer would be fully investigated and as part of that investigation an assessment would be made as to the seriousness of the conduct alleged.
