In 2010 the GLA published the first ever study into the mortality effects of air pollution in London. This estimated that the equivalent of 4,267 Londoners died prematurely in 2008 as a result of long-term exposure to PM2.5.

The majority of currently available health evidence focuses on the effects of PM2.5 so my officers do not have a similar estimate for the impact of nitrogen dioxide.
