Developers and investors are encouraged to offer tenants more secure tenancy agreements under the Build to Rent scheme. Will you make this mandatory for all developments, requiring them to offer tenants the option of at least a three or five year fixed tenancy with predictable rent increases?

Where the GLA is involved in Private Rented Sector schemes, it is very keen to secure longer term tenancies and is exploring the option of making their provision a mandatory requirement.

Under the Build to Rent programme delegated to the HCA, GLA has requested that the HCA make it a contractual requirement that developers sign up to the London Rental Standard.
