TfL has tested a Euro VI ADL double deck bus over the Millbrook London Transport Bus (MLTB) test cycle. NOx emissions are 95% lower and PM emissions 75% lower than the equivalent Euro V bus.

I am now accelerating the introduction of Euro VI buses, replacing around 900 older Euro III buses at a cost of £18m.

With respect to other Euro VI vehicles, testing has not been undertaken by TfL, but the expectation is for trucks and coaches to demonstrate similar improvements as these vehicles share the same engine certification standard. Euro VI for passenger cars are not a mandatory requirement until September 2014.
