Question

Further to my previous question 2014/0489, is it the study or the necessary works that will be completed at this problematic road junction this year. If it is only the study that is to be completed this year, what is the timescale by which improvements on the ground will be completed?

I understand that you have met with TfL officers to discuss design work that has taken place looking at the provision of protected "green person" crossings at this junction. However, modeling of new layouts up to now has indicated severe congestion impacts on both the South Circular and Lordship  Lane with attendant delays to bus services. The desire for pedestrian improvements is well understood, however, and as a result this new piece of work is looking at alternatives which could lessen this negative impact.  This work should be completed by the end of 2014.
