Reforms in the Localism Act which allow local authorities to discharge their homelessness duty into the private rented sector give local authorities more flexibility to prevent and address homelessness. Targeted affordability funding will also help many boroughs to tackle homelessness. I encourage London boroughs to make use of these new powers and funds.
