TfL keeps up to date with research on metro system innovation and has been working with international metro rail organisations to benchmark best practice. The suitability of extended ramps has been investigated, but unfortunately constraints with TfL's current assets, such as inadequate space in existing train floors to accommodate an extension ramp, do not support this option.
