Question

How do you respond to the CBRE's London Supply Report's analysis that housing development is disproportionately focused within inner London, leaving outer London boroughs unprepared for a rising population?

Answer

Answer for Housing Supply

Answer for Housing Supply

Answered By:
The Mayor

43% of the housing supply identified in the minimum housing targets proposed by the Further Alterations to the London Plan lies in outer London Boroughs.

This reflects the methodology agreed by all boroughs when undertaking the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment, including the emphasis that it places on sustainable development by relating density of provision to public transport accessibility.

The overall distribution of proposed supply is therefore a function of the commitment in the Alterations to the potential for more sustainable development in both inner and outer London.
