Football clubs play an important role in bringing local communities together in London. The Mayor

I am determined to ensure that London is a place where everyone can feel safe and can fully participate in the recreational activities of their choice.

I have been vocal in my condemnation of homophobia and hate crime.

MOPAC is currently in the process of developing a Hate Crime Reduction Strategy, which will include issues of homo/transphobic hate crime.

My representatives meet with London's LGBT community organisations twice yearly, and trans community annually to discuss issues relating to homo/transphobia in London.

I am supportive of The Football Association's Action Plan for including lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people in football, 'Opening Doors and Joining in 2012-2016'.

Additionally, I am supportive of the aims of Arsenal's 'Gay Gooners' Supporters Group and the aims of the FA endorsed 'Football v Homophobia' campaign.
