Question

A bus stop was removed from Cricklewood Lane in early 2010 when a new crossing was built outside of the Virgin Active gym (opposite junction with Thorverton Road). The bus stop was moved 'temporarily' but has never been replaced. Older residents are feeling cut-off as the nearest bus stop is hard to get to. A number are now getting off the bus at the stop past Cricklewood train station only to cross the road and get on the bus back at the other side. Will you now reinstate this bus stop?

This stop was removed due to the installation of the new pedestrian crossing associated with the redevelopment work that now forms the gym site. Although TfL always looks for alternative sites in these situations, no suitable location was available in this particular instance due to the curvature of the road either side of the gym development, the signalled junction and the railway bridge to the west. TfL recognises that this has resulted in a longer gap between stops and will review the issue again with Barnet council.
