Question

The driver who refused to stop his speeding car and killed PC Andy Duncan was given an eight year sentence. The starting point for killing an on duty police officer is normally a 30 year sentence. Does this illustrate the problem with our two tier criminal justice system which goes soft when someone gets behind the wheel of a car?

Answer

Whilst I can't comment directly on the tragic case of PC Duncan and the sentence the court decided upon in that instance, drivers who kill people through irresponsible actions should, of course, receive tough penalties.
