Will you set up a post crash investigation system similar to Sweden and involving both the Met Police and TfL engineers, to analyse all fatal and serious injury collisions in order to assess what action would have prevented crash?

All fatal/most serious collisions are attended by collision investigators (a mixture of police officers and staff trained to Industry standard). Scenes are surveyed and the reasons for all collisions ascertained and recorded formally. The MPS also deploy Traffic Management Officers, trained in highway design and regulations. These officers bring all highway errors to the Highways agencies attention and attempt to work with the agencies to bring about improvement. The MPS has no legal power to enforce design change. The MPS is independent of TfL, but does and will provide TfL with finding of relevant collisions.
