Your response to question 2013/4664 detailed the average fare rise for all transport modes. The original question requested data on the percentage of people, based on the existing proportions of travel products sold on buses, tubes and rail, who will have an increase above inflation, below inflation and at the level of inflation following your January 2014 fare rises. Please now answer the question as tabled.

On average, the rise in fares is below inflation at 2.7 per cent.

Detailed information on the mix of fares people pay over the course of a year is not available, and therefore it is not possible to calculate the percentages you request, i.e. what percentage of people experience what increase.

Few people pay only one particular fare over a year.
